Home Burglarized While Homeowners Slept, GPS Stolen From Car

A home was burglarized early today while the occupants slept, and the suspect made off with a GPS from a vehicle, the homeowner tells TLS. A Somerset Meadows homeowner says at about 3:30 AM a suspect entered his home through an un-alarmed window, and proceeded to burglarize the home in search of goods, all while the home’s occupants slept.

The suspect however, says the homeowner, set off the alarm when he opened the door to the garage instead of the door leading to the upstairs and and the burglar fled.

The suspect however made off with a GPS device from the owner’s vehicle.

It’s unknown if this incident is related to the Presidential Estates incident which occurred about three hours earlier.

CIU responded to the home to investigate. TLS-CCP/TLS-RCY.

  1. Support your Lcsw so they could return to patrolling in the late hours of the night it’s because Lakewood doesn’t support them that they don’t have the means to operate properly , remember the police can’t be everywhere at one time and usually don’t drive through Jewish complexes , support shomrim!!!

  2. Does anybody have any “real” practical suggestions how the police department can improve the security in our town? We pay taxes like a luxury suburban town and have a crime rate similar to camden NJ!!!

  3. Accually the police do drive through jewish developments

I see them at least twice a night and maybe more.

    Thank you lpd!!!

I also would like to mention that we all need to lock our windows and doors in the home and car every night

    Lcsw does great work aswell.

Most of the time the window was unlocked…………..

  4. Beware of a criminal that would enter an occupied home. A thief will burglarize an unoccupied home, A criminal with unknown intentions will enter a home when he knows that someone is home.

    Be aware and prepared.

  5. Nobody is blaming the victim. But if you lock your doors and windows, the chances of a burglary go down considerably.

You, of course, will probably continue to keep your windows and doors unlocked, because you don’t want to do anything that may appear to “blame the victim”. You, of course, will invite upon yourself victimhood.

  6. I remember on east 7 th Lcsw stopped a guy breaking into cars and kept him under wraps till Lpd came to arrest him, they do this for free, support there organization , or expect more and more crimes taking place, support Lcsw !

  7. Remember to lock your windows at night.. especially since the Spring season has set in & our tendency to open the windows during the day for fresh air.

  8. Support LPD! LCSW is a great tool to report what they see back to the police but are not a deterrent to criminals. A burglar is not going to pass over a neighborhood just because they see a LCSW patrol car- they’ll just wait until the car turns down another street. The only way to protect yourself and your belongings from intruders is to remember to take your valuables out of the car when retiring for the night, make sure your vehicle is locked up (doors and windows) and lock your house up before you go to sleep. Common sense things sometimes are the best defense.
