Hatzolah Takes On 3 New Members

In a continuing effort to service the needs of the rapidly growing Lakewood community, Hatzolah has added an additional three members to the team, sources tell TLS. Yechiel Rivlin, Reuven Glieberman and Avrumi Werner were accepted today as ‘probationary members’, a term used by Hatzolah for all new members.

The probation period is for aproximately 6 months, whereupon the board reevaluates the temporary members to decide if they should remain on the team.

All three members are residents of the South side of town.

The three new volunteers brings the total number of members to 56, which includes 2 Doctors and 14 Paramedics – three of which became certified this year.

Hatzolah responds to approximately 7,000 calls yearly with an average response time of under 2 minutes, according to Hatzolah. TLS-CCP/TLS-89/TLS-62.

  1. Yechiel is a wonderful choice, a young man, with HEILIGE energy, and a heart of gold, always ready to help a fellow yid, medicinal or monetary, a TAYERE yid!

hatzoloh is one of the few solid organizations in town,
    Keep up the good work!

  2. Why does it seem that being included in hatzolah is some kind of political status? Does joining hatzolah warrant a mazal tov? shouldnt it warrant a thank you?

  3. Does this hazalah really have a 2 minute response time? how do they do this? typical EMS has a 6-8 minute response time! I am not jewish but live in town, do I have to call 911 for EMS, or will they also come out to me?

  4. Mazel Tov Avrumie!!!! May u be zoche to help yidden in need. I know you would drop everything to help a person in need, now B”H you are given the chance to continue helping klal yisroel.

  5. Although hatzolo consists of mainly Jewish volunteers, they treat anyone who seeks their help indicriminately. I’m not Jewish myself but when I have a medical emergency I call on them and they treat me as nice as I cud have imagined.

  6. I had to use Hatzala a little while ago and response time was LESS than 2 minutes. My door was barely opened when they came running in.

They are amazing! Mi Ke’amcha Yisroel!

  7. By now TLS readers have a picture of Hatzolah rejects being (moderated) who just want to ride around with lights and sirens. While this might be true for some of them, quite a few of us (including current hatzolah members who are frustrated by this) know of good, ehrlich, aidel men who are real klal people who have been rejected. It is when we hear of such people not being allowed onto Hatzolah that we get turned off.

And adding 3 members after years of us asking for additional manpower in a part of Lakewood that is growing faster than we can keep track of, is not cause for a celebration yet. It is just the tip of the iceberg of what is needed.
