[VOTE LINK] [UPDATE – Petition has reached 50,000] TLS has received a request from the daughter of Shalom Rubashkin, Mrs. Roza Weiss, requesting all who have not yet signed the online petition, to please do so today, as the petition deadline is this Shabbos, October 22nd.
The petition, which currently has approximately 48,000 signatures, can be signed by any US resident 13 years or older.
The petition, ‘Call an Investigation into Allegations of Prosecutorial & Judicial Misconduct in the Case of Sholom Rubashkin’, was launched after Rubashkin’s 27 year sentence was upheld, and his appeal was rejected.
They end-date on a Sabbath with two days of religious holiays b4 back to back. Makes you wonder, dontcha think?
They reached it. Now let’s see the truth about Iowa style justice.
My bad. They have enough to go forward. 5000. Just a bit more than 1100 to make 50,000. Call everyone you know west of our time zone NOW.
Tried to sign the petition but I NEED AN ACCOUNT !!!
Why so ????
A goy, Gerry Mullen
You need an account so that the same person doesn’t sign many times.
Gerry:
Sign up and make an account. It takes one minuet
Email your American Israeli friends so they should sign the petition on their Motzaei Shabbos which is 6 Hours prior to ours…
Dear gerry mullen,
Thanks for showing ur support. An account only takes about a minute to create and not much info is requested. I believe it was only an email address and a name. Thank you.
did it 50065 as of licht candle lighting time. Gut Yom Tov!
50, 348.
Btw 348 is SAMEACH! I’ Y H.
How can we find out what was the result of the petition?
I think there is some misinformation being disseminated. True, there was a deadline of October 22, but that was the date by which the threshold of 25,000 signatures was to be reached. That threshold has been reached and surpassed quite a while ago. The petition is however still open for more signatures, and the tally is still increasing as of this moment.
Therefore, if you have not yet signed the petition or if you know people who have not yet done so, it is still advisable to sign the petition at this late stage so as to enlarge the margin of support for this momentous cause.
Although 51,000 signatures seem significant, it represents a mere fraction of the actual grassroots support for Sholom Rubashkin. The fact is that not enough people have been made aware of the petition, Additionally, there are many who support the Rubashkins, but do not have internet access and their own e-mail accounts which are needed in order to participate. Perhaps, there could be a way to better inform the general public about the petition and perhaps there is a way where computer access could be made available to a broader audience..
People, any suggestions?
My mother taught me a long time ago that “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.” Based on the fact that my last comments were deleted without being posted I can only extrapolate that this site is indeed biased and not 100% objective.
So, are you going to delete this too?
