Hatzolah, as well as Police, removed several children from the Lake a short time ago, after they were seen playing on the partially frozen ice. Hatzolah and the Police department once again ask residents to refrain from playing, skatingĀ or walking on the ice, as the signs around the Lake clearly dictate.

thank you hatzolah and police
Now, WHERE ON EARTH are these parents?
is it just me or are pple in lakewood trying to commit suicide by not reading signs. this is a serious issue. if pple are avoiding the “no ice skating” signs and proceeding to step out on the ice, they’re asking for a disaster. it’s kinda like “i told you so”.
so whatever you do. DO NOT get on the ice.
And when a kid ch’v does fall in everyone runs around praising them! What’s the matter with this town they should be rapremanded not become heroes!!!!!!
Why wasn’t Chaverim called?
cant fix stupid!
There were children playing on the lake even today (Shabbos). An older kid was throwing a younger one’s yarmulka and the younger one was going to fetch it!
In the good old days, the township would notify the public when it was safe to go one the ice (by turning around the no ice skating sign) so most people knew that it was unsafe at other times. The sign has not been turned in many, many years and I am not sure if it is because the lake has not been sufficiently frozen or because the township no longer wants to deal with it. Maybe if residents knew that they would be allowed to go on the ice in the proper circumstances, they would refrain from going on when it is unsafe to do so.
To YR why weren’t they called? Please tell me u are Not for real. Why should they be called. They are not the law, nor are they able to enforce it
To #6:
Back in the day the lake froze with good, solid ice. Since they built the dam by rt. 9, the water is constantly flowing through the lake, so it no longer freezes like it used to. I remember people walking across the lake every winter.
How about calling the lcsw in (lol) i think calling pd in for this was a bit to much
what does this have to do with chaveirim? it’s the cops job to make sure pple are safe
ch’v someone does fall in… it may require the specialized training and equipment for a rescue. AFAIK only FD and PD are capable.
so why do I see men ice fishing and no one is saying something to them? They are drilling holes which makes the ice even weaker? NO ONE should be on the lake period!
Yes #8,
I’ve walked across the lake myself back in the day.
All the guys who lived on the south side of the lake back then, trust me it wasn’t that many, who would walk to yeshiva to daven every Shabbos, would get a nice break in the winter when the lake would freeze.
