(Story originally posted here-Click on image to enlarge). Abraham Valesco, 22, of Ocean Avenue was arrested after a patrolman investigated a claim that someone stole two tires from a car on Gefen Drive, (White Oaks) Detective Steven Wexler said. Patrolman Michael Marzocca responded to the call about 3:30 a.m. Sunday and found a Honda Civic with two tires removed, the car propped up on milk crates, Wexler said. A resident saw a man take the tires off the car and place them in the back seat of his car and told Officer Edgardo Vega, Wexler said.
Vega spoke to witnesses, then found the car belonging to the man who took the tires, Wexler said.
Valesco admitted to having the tires at his Ocean Avenue home. Vega saw two circular dirt rings on the back seat of Valesco’s car, and Valesco had a tire mark on his shoulder, Wexler said.
Valesco initially gave Vega a different name, Wexler said.
The tires, a jack and a tire iron were found outside adjacent to Valesco’s home.
Valesco was charged with theft, possession of burglary tools and providing false documents to police.
His bail was set at $10,000, and he was reported to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Wexler said. He was being held at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.
