Residents in the Raintree area of Lakewood have been alerted to a new scam that has recently surfaced in the community.
According to concerned residents, a company has been going around the area and offering to fix driveways using extra materials they have on hand. However, they are apparently using a classic bait-and-switch tactic to trick unsuspecting homeowners into paying for more than they bargained for.
The scam works like this: the company approaches homeowners and offers to fix their driveways using excess materials. Once the homeowner agrees to the service, the company begins the work. However, as the work progresses, the scammers inform the homeowner that they need to pay for additional services or materials that were not originally agreed upon.
To avoid falling victim to this scam, residents are advised to be cautious when approached by anyone offering unsolicited services. If someone comes to your door offering to fix your driveway or perform any other service, it is important to ask for their credentials and verify their identity. Do not agree to any services or payments until you are sure you are dealing with a legitimate and trustworthy company.
I had that with (moderated) LLC not long ago.
They will say anything to get the sale but didn’t keep any of it.
The job is already coming apart.
Was a terrible experience. Very sweet until you give them the job. Once they start working guys show up smoking drugs and yelling.
The sales guy comes up with his personal car.
Why was the name moderated?
maybe because there are 2 sides to every story?
And once you know and hear that you should be doing due diligence before agreeing to a job, does it matter who this commenter thought did a bad one?
Just make sure your guy is reputable, then you wont get his guy!
Alternatively, the companys name might just in fact be (Moderated) LLC… :)~
If the don’t have the company’s vehicle and business cards they are scammers
