Glen Avenue North a major thoroughfare in desperate need of repair
Rather a yeshivishe approach to a serious problem Lakewood is not a shtetel! It is a city! every proper municipality has a program to repave each and every single road on a schedule. That is a very basic service and should be high priority. We pay taxes where are our roads? If it is because of all the patching due to construction either the patching has to be upgraded so it doesn’t fall apart and sink or a fee must be charged for every home going up to repave when a area finally gets built up. There are some roads where houses haven’t been built and say 5 years and they still have the patches bumps etc due to the building this needs to stop.
Regent Drive ASAP. It’s the best roller coaster in town and I drive a newer vehicle!!
Cross street. Between Massachusetts and RT 9. Needs a repaving
Glenn, EMERGENCY!!!!
Time to elect leaders who will take a more proactive approach to Lakewood development or more like maintenance. It shouldn’t have to be that after months of fighting they’ll agree to fix a road or having many roads in Lakewood that are deplorable
Prospect Street
Very bumpy ride
Agreed!!
I’ll third that
Yup
Henry St from Route 9 to Rose
Full re-paving needed desperately
forest avenue from north lake till 6th st

Brook Road between County Line and Ridge was recently reconstructed by the County when they installed a new stormwater basin to accommodate the new turning lanes at the Brook & County Line intersection.
The County has already repaved Brook and County.
Once everything is complete they will also repave Brook from County Line to Ridge.

Great news! The Township just recently awarded a paving contract for
East Fifth Street between Ridge Avenue and Negba Street
North Oakland Avenue &
Stirling Avenue between Holly Street and North Oakland Avenue;
The work is expected to take place soon!
James street by the tracks major bump!
James Street at Williams Street and the adjacent rail crossing are currently under construction for installation of a traffic signal! The current bumpiness is due to all this road work. Once the traffic signal is installed, the entire intersection will be repaved.
That bump by the tracks actually has been around for many years. Not so sure that it’s because of current construction
Hi to clarify. I’m referring to that huge bump as you go over the tracks. Not the intersection.
North Oakland and Stirling
Marys lane is a Night-maree
They have to widen the street closer to the tracks and pave it. Its an accident waiting to happen Chas Vshalom. And the township is accountable NOW THAT IT IS BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION
Accountability occurs at the polls on Election Day
Seventh Street near the public school has bumps every few hundred feet
Regent
Hillside in westgate
North Oakland St between Ocean ave and Stirling Ave.
Inches deep potholes.
Also East 7th Street between Nowlan Place and Princeton Ave.
All the construction-related paving has caused the road to be very uneven and bumpy.
Great news!
The Township has recently awarded a contract for repaving the entire stretch of North Oakland Avenue.
Additionally, the Township is currently in the bidding process for a traffic signal at Park Avenue & 7th Street and that project will include some smoothing out of the adjacent rail crossing as well as repaving some or all of that stretch of 7th Street.
Road work is expected to begin in another few months.
Forest Avenue from North Lake to 6th Street will get repaved soon under a contract the Township Committee recently awarded.
Glen Avenue and Gudz Road were awarded a repaving contract last year. There was apparently some hold off with that work.
Construction has already begun for a traffic signal at James and Williams. It’s a massive project that includes work on the adjacent rail crossing so it will likely take another couple of years until it’s complete.
Hope and Miller is slated to get a traffic signal, along with a new northbound right turning lane. The county has not yet bid out the project.
Prospect Street is slated for a complete makeover including major improvements to the drainage system. The county is in the process of acquiring the necessary right of way from the adjoining property owners. The project likely go to bid in first or second quarter of 2023. Road work will take place after the water utility work is complete.
Cross Street is also slated for a repaving, with widening to a 3-section roadway, including some additional upgrades at the Cross / Massachusetts Avenue intersection. The county has secured State DEP permits and they are now working on acquiring right of way for this project.
Where do you get all this info from?
Drake rd
i second this!
The Township has applied for a State grant for major Improvements to Drake Road including widening and sidewalks!
East 5th Bet Park Ave & Ridge Fourth
Under 2 separate contracts, the Township will repave East 5th Street between Ridge Avenue and Negba Street and between Negba Street and Manetta Avenue.
Some of this work has been held up by open permits for utility work. Once those permits are closed out, the Township will repave both sections of this road.
Saint Nicholas has a major bump u could kill your tires if your going above 5 miles an hr.
Maple ave
County Line East in Raintree

Thank you for this idea TLS!
Maybe we can do a intersection poll as well

(like lanes mill and ridge intersection with sidewalks and turning lanes needed)
County Line Road East is on the County’s list. They are using a State Aid grant for several roads in Lakewood including County Line Road East.
The project has not yet gone to bid but it will likely go to bid next year.
guds road try to drive on it and you will see that you cant break if you are in middle of the air
How hard is it to send around a few engineers in a car to see for themselves?
Towers, between funston and vine. It’s a hazard driving down that road!!!
Prospect ASAP
With all the construction and digging they keep doing it has left Prospect into one long roller coaster and it’s just impossible to drive down without hitting you head on the roof of your car.
Wear a helmet!
Cypress ave the whole entire street is a dangerous street. You feel your car like your in great adventure.
First and Clifton coming from Lexington
Mega issue
Park ave county to e7th has been destroyed by the recent construction
As noted above, the Township is currently in the bidding process for a traffic signal at Park & 7th. Repaving a portion of Park Avenue is included in that upcoming project!
Just dump tar across the entire Lakewood. That should just about cover it.
North Drive at the corner near Massachusetts Avenue. There are a few HUGE pot holes and it is horrible!
Pine Blvd. and many many more!!
@Simcha Steinberg, why is a traffic light on James and Williams such massive project that still need a few more years to complete?
Widening a road is always a massive project because storm water can not run through pavement as it is impervious coverage. Therefore, to accommodate widening of a road, requires installation of an underground stormwater basin to accommodate the additional impervious coverage.
Additionally, there are existing water mains and gas lines where they want to pave additional travel lanes, and those utilities also need to be relocated.
Finally, there are overground utility poles which need to be relocated to make room for the new pavement. The relocation requires a ton of coordination with all the utility companies – each company can spend several months moving their lines (for example, moving the electric poles at Cedar Bridge and Avenue of The States took 6 months, and way longer at Oberlin Avenue.
There is an additional issue at James & Williams which is the rail crossing. The County is coordinating with the rail company to make some upgrades on their crossing as well, including electric gates.
And… Then you have the Lakewood residents telling the Township that we only want road closures during off peak travel hours…
So yes, unfortunately, installation of a traffic signal and widening this intersection will be a multi-year long process!
The good news is that at least we actually have the ball rolling.
New central between gudz and hope Chapel!!
BAISCALLY 90 PERCENT OF LAKEWOOD
James street closer to cross as well as cross street by tihilas Chaya Sara was repaved terribly
