The Lakewood Board of Education is resuming the distribution of weekday and weekend food boxes for Lakewood children today, after the USDA announced it would be extending the program.
There will be weekday and weekend boxes available for pickup, free-of-charge. The weekday food boxes are available for children ages 0-5 who do not attend school, and students ages 18-21 who in Special Education programs they have not yet graduated from. Remote-learning students are also eligible. Students who receive lunch from their schools are not eligible for the weekday boxes.
ALL CHILDREN, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY RECEIVE FOOD AT SCHOOL ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE WEEKEND BOX.
All food boxes have been made by Gelbstein’s.

Today, Thursday, September 17th, from 3:30 PM to 6 PM.
Locations:
- Clifton Avenue Grade School, 625 Clifton Avenue
- Lakewood Middle School, 755 Somerset Avenue
YOU MAY ONLY GET A FOOD BOX FROM ONE LOCATION.
Photo ID will be required when picking up food boxes.
There will also be food box distributions at the same locations as above on September 24th, October 1st, and October 8th.
