A Lakewood resident’s act of kindness in court, didn’t go unnoticed. Upon arriving to court today, a Lakewood resident in court for a cell phone ticket learned of a man who had fallen on hard times and couldn’t afford to pay his fine, a witness told TheLakewoodScoop. So the Lakewood resident went ahead and paid for this unknown man’s fine.
When it was this man’s turn to be called up by Judge Susan Schroeder-Clark, the judge’s assistant reportedly notified the judge of this man’s act of kindness – and she was blown away.
“The judge then stated that most people are mad and upset to be here, yet you helped out a man in need, which is commendable. Because of that, you will only pay the court fees, but not the $206 cell phone ticket,” a witness in court told TLS.
He added, “I’ve never seen a judge with such class, and compassion.”

I’ve been in court with Judge Schroeder and have been blown away by her compassion and kindness. She actually broke down and cried during one case. She truly cares about each individual standing in front of her. Beautiful story random act of kindness.
Yes I too took note of Judge Schroeder Clark’s stellar character. While waiting my turn several months back in the Howell Court for a traffic ticket I witnessed her compassion and commitment to helping people improve themselves rather than digging them in a deeper hole. I wish all judges should be like her. A real class act.

Wow, great story – Im just curious, did she throw out the ticket or just not fine him ?? Is she allowed to dismiss a ticket cuz he’s nice guy ? The nafka mInah will be if it’s on his record and counts as points or whatever. A cell phone ticket is a serious one.
And I agree with @dontBb, C# (whatever that means) This Judge clearly has a brain and a heart – which doesm’t sound like much yet is sorely missing in many of our elected politicians. She should definitely run for governor or Supreme Court !!
