Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus: Visitors under 18 not permitted during flu season

With flu season in full swing, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood has issued a statement barring visitors under the age of 18.

“During flu season, visitors under the age of 18 are not permitted, and we are limiting visitors to only 3 per patient room at a time,” the hospital told TLS. “We are also encouraging hand washing for all visitors and for those who may have flu-like symptoms, we are encouraging them to visit another day or to use technology to communicate with our patients.”

According to CDC officials, this flu season has been one of the worst on record, and has been the cause of at least one death in New Jersey.
