Hatzolah EMS is always there for our community, answering our calls and saving our lives.
Now it is our responsibility.
This coming Shabbos, Shabbos Parshas Ki Tzetzei, has been designated as the annual Shabbos Hatzolah. With the guidance of the Mashgiach ZTZ”L, over 30 years ago, this Shabbos initiates the annual Tomeich Hatzolah campaign which is the cornerstone of Hatzolah’s fundraising efforts.
Reflecting the ever growing population into far reaching neighborhoods, Hatzolah’s operating budget has skyrocketed to over $1,750,000.00. The ongoing costs of equipment, medical supplies, insurance, emergency phones, member training, and ambulance maintenance are just some of the numerous expenses that Hatzolah faces on a daily basis. This number does not include any capital expansion such as the purchasing of new equipment and vehicles.
Hatzolah needs the community to help shoulder the burden of these enormous expenditures, and asks that each family donate a minimum of $104 over the course of the next year.
This year, Hatzolah has urged the Rabbanim and Gabbaim of each shul in Lakewood to strengthen their outreach to their kehilos, since the very existence and continuation of Hatzolah is dependent largely on the success of Shabbos Hatzolah and the Tomeich Hatzolah campaign.
At this time of year, when our lives hang in balance, please do your best to help Hatzolah do its best , to be there to help save lives in our community.
After all – it is our responsibility.
