this is realy what were being busy with erev rosh chodesh elul
The mashgiach, spoke about this in a shmuz on Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul. He quoted Rash’i in the beginning of Bereishis who says that an eclipse is a bad sign for the world, But when one keeps the mitzvos, he does not have to worry. So the fact that it was on ER”CH Ellul, is a good reminder of that.
I gotta say, it was really, really, cool.
it was not this dark in lakewood!
These photos were taken using a special filter that lets through only 1/10000 of the available light, so everything else looks pitch black. This filter enables you to safely look at the sun, and prevents sun rays from burning your camera’s sensor.
what r people doing erev rosh chodesh elul
To Jack: Looking how H-M is the king of the whole universe.
The Chofetz Chaim said it is a mitzvah to look at a sun eclipse to see Who is the real Yotzer Hameoros, and he himself went out to see the eclipse! A good preparation for Elul.
