Township Manager: 2017 Infrastructure projects underway; List of improvements around Lakewood

Township Manager Thomas Henshaw is asking for your patience as the 2017 infrastructure projects get underway around Lakewood.

Henshaw told TLS, “The Township of Lakewood has started up the 2017 Infrastructure Projects. We have enclosed the areas that will be addressed this year. The Township Committee has also increased the construction this year to help alleviate some of the traffic issues we are now facing. This construction also includes sidewalks, drainage and road improvements.

Finally, we realize the inconvenience that this construction is having in the Township and we are asking for your patience while we complete these projects.

Thank you for your time and understanding.”

    • I wrote a letter to the traffic planners about it. Maybe if others do too, they’ll do a study. (not that you need a ‘study’ to figure it out – but thats how they do it. I believe I saw them there during Bein Hazmanim!?)

  1. Why in the world is there a need for a traffic light at the intersection of Albert and Oak? It is actually one of the better flowing intersections in town!

  2. Traffic signal at MLK and Pine will create a situation worse than it already is for Marc Drive and Forest Park trying to turn left onto Pine. At least with the current stop sign, drivers are sometimes willing to let you turn in front of them. But when it means causing them to miss the green light most drivers will not want to stop and let left turners in. The current 4 way stop works fairly well and even with a long line of cars it keeps moving.

  3. @truth
U could be right but end of day everyone eels will gane from it
Maybe forest park should make Onother entrance/exit on the other side of the forst park or connect it to pine river and open that parking lot block

  4. In the midst of all the complainers…I’ll be the only comment saying Thank You!!! Lakewood needs infrastructure improvements and the town is taking action to make this a better place to live. Thank you!!

  5. What about 763 Marlin Avenue for drainage my front and back yards flood always from Lake Erie in front of my home when it rains called township many times and get ignored why do I pay taxes? Also Oak Street and New Hampshire Ave. in desperate
need of a turning signal why is this not being done? Why Oak and Albert Ave. this is crazy.

  6. Hi Everyone
Does anyone know how I contact their office, because Milton Street is actually perfect it’s Coleman Ave that needs to be repaved. I use these 2 roads daily to get to work

    Thanks so much

  7. Improvements are good. Sidewalks great. Be even better if residents would actually walk on the sidewalks. I live in an area with sidewalks still people walk in middle of the street baby carriages and all. Something nerds to be done

  8. The sidewalks in Lakewood are very narrow, that is why people often walk in the street.

In cities were people use the sidewalks, they are much wider.
