  1. Yungerman means a young man. Btw, to the editor in TLS, plz write in a language which everyone could understand. Your not a small site anymore, there tons of visitors to your site from allover. Thanks

  2. But the police should continue giving tickets out for not putting on blinkers. Thats criminal behavior. Beating someone up? They look away or are busy giving out traffic tickets. Tickets bring money in, not arresting bad guys who steal and beat you up.

It would seem from your comment that you have a solid solution into stopping the “real” criminals… the guys robbing homes and beating the innocent. … I would suggest you clearly write your solution as opposed to simply bashing law enforcement.

I agree that more should be done in the sense of proactive law enforcement. One way to be proactive is to monitor moving violations. The thought process is that these criminals are probably scouting areas and may not be “law abiding” while they drive around scouting or drug dealing etc…

It so happens that in our lovely town called lakewood, many many residents either don’t know the rules of driving (like blinkers when turning or fully stopping at a stop sign) or they are simply ignoring them since they are late for their chavrusa (study partner) or whatever…. I think it’s about time the cops are cracking down on these “innocent” potential vehicular accident perpetrators.

Driving is not a right…. it’s a privilege. When you get your license you agree to abide by the driving rules. Breaking the rules…. maybe it may seem like a minor infraction….. can lead to serious injury and even death like this town has seen many many times.

LPD – go get em… And hopefully you pull some of these criminals over with this proactive approach.

  4. @townisnuts . The police here do an excellent job keeping criminals off the street . I don’t think it was the right thing to bash them that their not doing the job

  5. Why don’t people READ the comments before them? You have about 7 people responding to the question of “what’s a yungerman”. If you would take a minute to read, you would see that the person had their question answered. Either read the comments or don’t read the comments, but certainly don’t respond to one comment without bothering to scroll through the rest.

  6. To 11 Townisnuts, While some traffic tickets may not be public safety issues, not using blinkers is a major public safety issue. I have almost gotten into crashes a number of times because the person in front of me, made a sudden stop in order to turn without using blinkers.

I do believe the police should be patrolling more, but it amazes me when people turn without blinkers, and then apologists like yourself believe it is not a big deal. I have no doubt that there are a number of crashes caused by not using blinkers in Lakewood every year.

Really, how much effort does it take to use a blinker?

  7. to #14 often, since the site is moderated there may be seven respondents within minutesand no responses have been posted because they are awaiting moderating

  8. Yes you are all right we should use our blinkers! I dont think i ever turned without using my blinker. Ive gotten cut off many times by aggresive drivers. Ive been hit twice (rear ended) by drivers going too fast or whatever they were doing. I am a safe driver. I am the one behind the wheel everyday muttering under my breath about all the wreckless drivers out there. However, its always the good people who get the tickets and the bad drivers, the ones who deserve them who dont! Just saying… And the thugs out there are still out there….

  9. And @really. Im honored that you wrote such a long response to comment. How long did that take you? You should relax a little. Go drink a cup of coffee….

  10. @townisnuts
I’m pretty relaxed. Spent about 3-4 minutes on the response. Front your ranting it seems that you may need to read the book of Job, why good people suffer and the wicked flourish. Maybe read it over a cup of coffee and while relaxing.
    Keep safe

  11. to #18 i too am the one muttering about what gopes on all the time on the roads: 99% of the time my windows in the car are closed. a few months ago we were driving south on rt. 9 and the driver in front of us was basicly not staying evenly in the lane: a little to the left and then a little to the right we had no idea what he was doing and we asssumed that he might be drunk so we put more distance in front of us well luckily we did as all of a sudden he stopped short and right in front of us he made a u turn if we hadnt had a good distance in front of uf we probably would have slammed into him and the car behind us would have slammed into us.
