Last night, the Agudath Israel New Jersey office organized a conference for Lakewood Rabbonim on behalf of Chayim Arucim, a division of Agudath Israel, which deals with end of life issues and Halachic and medical practices on behalf of chronically ill patients.
The conference was addressed by Reb Gedalia Weinberger, Chairman for Chayim Aruchim, Rabbi Shmuel Lefkowitz, Rabbi Avi Schnall, New Jersey Director of Agudath Israel, Rabbi Eliezer Gewirtzman, Dayan for Chayim Aruchim.
The keynote speaker was Rav Shlomo Zalman Epstien, son of Rav Chaim Epstein ZTL. Rav Epstein spoke about the challenges and difficulties his family experienced in dealing with doctors and hospitals towards the end of their father’s life. He relayed the attempts that were made by several doctors to end their father’s life, and the importance for Rabonim to be educated in the dangers that exist in hospitals today.
The evening ended with divrei bracha and Chizuk from the Rosh Yeshiva Rav Malkiel Shlita, who emphasized the value of every life, no matter how ill the patient may be, and the vital work that is being done by Chayim Aruchim.

A very important issue, may hashem bless us all with chayim aruchim.
At least we are opening our eyes to the fact, that the government & medical community, do NOT value life as a yid should.
Everyone ,get your heads out of sand before it will be too late!
#1 is overall 100% right
and it will soon be spiraling downward
If the general jewish communities always rather be reactive, instead of proactive,we will only have ourselves to blame
