A motorcyclist was killed and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway this evening, officials say.

The crash occurred at approximately mile post 99 southbound around 10 PM, when the cyclist reportedly slammed into the rear of a truck (pictured), according to preliminary reports from the scene. Several other vehicles – reportedly seven – then crashed at the scene as a result of the initial crash, officials say

A witness says the motorcycle was “wrapped around a pole,” and several others appeared to be injured.

MONOC, as well as Lakewood Haztolah members are among the dozens of emergency personnel on scene.

The extent of injuries are not currently known.
