I received a scam call from someone claiming to be calling from Windows Technical Support. He had one of those unintelligible Asian accents so I believed him at first. He said they are getting multiple alarms that my internet is not working right, and they have to fix it. They wanted me to let them take control of my pc via “Teamviewer”. They really had me scared, but I didn’t want to let them on my pc if I wasn’t sure who they were. I told them this but they talked it off. I said I have Norton anti-virus and they said that Norton can’t prevent all the viruses and I must have some serious ones. So I told them I’ll call Norton and see what they suggest. They kept talking and I hung up. When I got in touch with Norton, they told me that it’s a scam and that they can do damage, and in any case they will try to get money from me to fix non-existent problems.
Norton said I should notify the authorities, but I don’t know how to do that. So I am telling you and maybe you will know whom to notify.
The phone number that called me is 800-480-0064. At least that’s the number that came up on my DSL line in Jerusalem. BTW they were trying to get me Friday from midnight to 3am Jerusalem time. Then they called again Saturday night, and that’s when I answered the phone. But in US time that would be Friday 5pm to 9pm, and Saturday afternoon. Evidently a weekend project!

We got this same call here in lakewood.
when you ask them if they know your name they will tell you it correctly as they have cross referenced it with your listed phone number.
I got the guy really upset as I kept on testing him by asking if windows was made by Microsoft or Apple . HE DID NOT RESPOND AS HE DID NOT KNOW THE ANSWER. He kept on demanding that I go at once to my computer and got more agressive with the more questions I asked. Until u told him he was a fraud and then he let loose with a list of foul language one could never post on any media website.. this happened several times in the past 1-2 months.
I called LPD and there is nothing to be done. just don’t do as they sat ever. Hang up. If they say they are the irs, bank… call the number you find on the back of your credit card or the number you find on the government official website. Never rely on the phone number the caller gave you.

Just put a primary kid on phone and have them recite alef-bais that will take care of.
What I do is let them drone on without answering them. Eventually they just hang up.
Had previously fell for the microsoft scam and had to have my computer fixed…so when I got the call again I knew it was a scam. I kept them on the phone for 15 minutes pretending to play along with the guy, really taking him for a ride, I had him convinced I was about to share my screen with him when suddenly I told him, if you don’t see my screen there must be something wrong with your computer, if you have a virus I can help you get rid of it! He got really mad when he realized I had pulled his leg and began cursing until I hung up.
At least I used those 15 minutes of his time to spare others from being scammed.
you can check 800notes.com to see if anyone reported the number for a scam.
I declined the service,
Ten they started cursing me, so I asked them, if Microsoft sent them to customer service classes…
they cursed even louder, I wonder why? lol
