TLS EXCLUSIVE: Chilling New Details in Lakewood Stabbing Attack

TLS this morning has exclusively learned of new chilling details in Friday’s stabbing attack of the Lakewood Bachur.

Shortly before Shabbos, Tzvi Aryeh was walking back from Learning and ready for Shabbos when he was walking on Pine Circle, the family tells TLS.

He was suddenly struck by a vehicle – driven by suspect Dion Marsh – and fell to the ground. Marsh then turned his vehicle around, got out of his car, and walked over to Tzvi Aryeh.

The family says Marsh asked him, “are you okay?” to which he responded in the negative. Marsh then grabbed a serrated kitchen knife, and stabbed Tzvi Aryeh in the neck. Chasdei Hashem, the handle to the knife broke, preventing the suspect from stabbing him again, and he fled.

Emergency personnel flooded the scene and began lifesaving measures.

“He lost a tremendous amount of blood,” the family says. “We though it was over.”

Tzvi Aryeh was transported to MMCSC in Lakewood, where they managed to get a pulse back. He was stabilized and flown to JSUMC.

On Shabbos, Tzvi Aryeh regained consciousness, and began talking.

Please continue to be Mispallel for Tzvi Aryeh ben Rivka Leah.

  1. I very much want this to be considered an act of terror. If this was in Israel it would without a doubt be considered a terror attack. I feel like it’s important to call a spade a spade.
Just because it’s not in the name of Allah doesn’t mean it’s not terrorism.

  2. Horrific crime! We as a community have a lot to thank Hashem for. This rampage could have ended in multiple casualties C”V.

Refuah Sheleima to the victims Bekarov. Hope this vile animal rots in jail for the rest of his life. Same for his role models.

  3. Explain to me please how the guy is on loose for SIX hours without the community being notified. They had the license plate number from the first incident. Why in the world didn’t an immediate alarm go out via social media etc. ?? Are we more “concerned” about alarming people than actually catching the thug?
Yes, we don’t have all the facts. But, it’s incomprehensible that nobody in the community was made aware of anything and the terrorist was allowed to roam for hours. It doesn’t suffice for emergency services to “be on top of things”. The community MUST be made aware immediately.
Let’s state the obvious. This appears to be absolute negligence and incompetence, on behalf of law enforcement, at the minimum.

  4. Why did it take 6+ hours to find this guy?

Why wasn’t there an AMBER alert ???? with the license plate posted all over?????

He could have been found in a few minutes and arrested, instead they waited to pick him up at his house.

NO BIG THANKS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT, they are payed to do this JOB. We appreciate when they do it properly, but when they don’t, we get very upset for the right reason, lives are at stake, if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen!

  5. @unreal I think you are incorrect. No one knew this suspect was a danger to everyone at large after he carjacked the car. It seemed like he just wanted a car or something. Unfortunately close to shabb is when the ramming started which the community should have been told about but it was in such a short time and Bh thanks to all the law enforcements he was caught… if they would have realized after the carjacking that he was a danger then I’m sure ther would have been warning and mass law enforcements… ty to all enforcements!

  6. I absolutely agree with Unreal.
We the residents of Lakewood Community should of been notified of Plate Number to have the awareness that Terrorist is on the loose. I’m sorry but Lakewood Police, this time you were a bit negligent protecting us!!

  7. The police had no clue that this fellow was a “terrorist” it appeared to be a car jacking, until it wasn’t. Please do not disparage the Lakewood police. They work very hard,as do all law enforcement, to keep the citizens safe. Ultimately, the ONE above watches over is, and if HE doesn’t, the entire US army won’t help!
    Hashem yishmor!

  8. Unreal is 100% correct. My daughters were walking around in the neighborhood and totally unaware of the danger…how complicated would it have been for the police to stop by alert all the shuls of the danger? Was a rabbi consulted abt whether Lcsw should be driving around and warning e/o? If this isn’t Pikachu than what is???? Anonymous

  9. ok from now as soon as something happens we’ll take you on record to predict future outcomes so that no one is considerednegligent

  10. At minimum, residents of the neighborhood should have been notified to remain locked indoors while this criminal was at large. I find this to be gross negligence.
