As first reported on TLS Status, one person was reportedly shot at American Dream Mall a short time ago.
The shooting happened shortly before 6:00 PM at one of the stores inside the mall.
One person was reportedly shot multiple times. He is said to be breathing and conscious.
Two suspects – reportedly Hispanic – are said to have fled the scene.
“I was there, definitely gun shots it was near food court. Very scary we ran out to the nearest parking lot,” a Twitter user wrote on our feed.
A video going around showing a child on a Hatzolah stretcher is reportedly an unrelated call.

Gov. Murphy: I have been briefed on the shooting at the American Dream Mall and NJSP has set up a command post. We are closely monitoring the situation, and are praying for those impacted. The public is advised to stay away from the area at this time.
NJSP: The NJSP is currently investigating a shooting incident which occurred at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, N.J. at approximately 5:50pm. The public is advised to avoid the area. Anyone looking to reunite with any family members, please go to Lot 26.
UPDATE FROM NJSP: The shooting incident at the American Dream has been determined to not be an active shooter. The mall is secure & troopers are in the process of safely removing patrons. Anyone looking to meet up with family members is asked to go to lot 26. The American Dream will remain closed.
UPDATE 11:37 PM from the NJSP: Earlier this evening, the New Jersey State Police responded to a shooting incident that occurred at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, Bergen County.
At approximately 5:50 p.m., troopers from the New Jersey State Police Meadowlands Station responded to the report of a shooting inside the American Dream Mall. When troopers arrived, they discovered one male victim was shot. The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to an area hospital.
The American Dream Mall was immediately locked down and troopers cleared the building while safely escorting patrons out.
Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives determined that only one suspect shot the victim, and detectives believe this to be an isolated incident. There is no threat to the public and the incident remains under investigation.
The American Dream Mall plans to reopen tomorrow for regular operating hours.
