Lakewood Police Foundation Hosts Spectacular Pre-Chanukah Party for Children Battling Illness [PHOTOS]

The Lakewood Police Foundation hosted a pre-Chanukah party Tuesday evening at OEM headquarters for Lakewood children battling illness.

Approximately 50 children and their families were at the event, which featured gourmet food, nosh, prizes, a parrot show, a balloon show, and numerous other exciting activities.

“This is a matter that is near and dear to my heart, as well as those of the entire Lakewood Police Department,” LPD Chief Greg Meyer told TLS. “I am thrilled that we were able to host this party for these children, who contain so much fight in them and stand up against the odds each day. I also want to thank all the officers and administration staff who came out to make the night a success.”

The event was coordinated by LPD Community Affairs Liaison and Lakewood Police Foundation President Ben Inzelbuch and others who worked for weeks to ensure that the pre-Chanukah party would be one not easily forgotten.

“To see the kids smiling and having a great time means everything to me; this event will stay with me throughout the year,” Community Affairs Liaison Ben Inzelbuch said. “I’m honored to work alongside Chief Meyer and entire Lakewood Police Department to make sure that each kid had the time of their life.”

“There are not enough words to thank the sponsors who, without any hesitation, were there – and are always there – to help us in any way they can,” he added.

Sponsors of the event include Greenwald Caterers, Toys4U, Gourmet Glatt, The Custom Shoppe, Kitchen Clique and others, who all chipped in to make the party spectacular for the brave children and their families in attendance.
