Copper stolen from multiple homes under construction in Lakewood

Authorities are investigating the theft of copper from multiple homes under construction in Lakewood, TLS has learned.

The thefts appeared to have occurred overnight last night in the area of Vine Street. At least three homes were burglarized.

Lakewood Police and CSI are investigating.

  1. It shouldn’t be left outside, but the delivery guy’s job is to deliver and leave on site. The workers are not ready for installing the material. The homeowner is not able to guard it and he has to pay for the replacement.

  2. Just by the way many builders and construction companies have been approached about utilizing security guards at night patrolling sites in order to prevent theses thefts they declined so its a free for all

  3. You should bad for these people who have to come on to stealing copper out of construction sites so that they can put food on their table.These rich builders can definitely swallow the cost.

  4. the cost of security guards will be way more than the copper theft. Its the cost of doing business. put some security cameras and scary signs to minimize.
