     I am in awe of parents like you.

     If I could be so chutzpahdik to suggest that your life is not destroyed. First, do you have other children that you raised that are frum? Each one of those children who are, or will be, living frum lives and building frum home are a world onto themselves. Second, I would presume that your sechar in oilam habah will be so great for chinuch you put into your son who is right now not being shoimer mitzvos. You put so much work into the chinuch of your son and are seeing not much peiros from him. With such an oilam habah waiting for you, your life is successful.

     I didn’t write this message to make you feel good. I wrote it for selfish reasons. I have a child who has a number of non-fatal incurable illnesses. They are non-fatal but they affect her quality of life and can be obstacles to her getting a shidduch And so I write this part while crying: because you have such zechusim, please have my daughter in mind and daven for her to have a complete recovery. I am not writing her name as I am not comfortable risking exposing her illness to others. But I am a real person and hashem does not need a name to send a refuah sheleimah.

     I intend to write this same message to another mother who posted here.

   I also got it on two separate WhattsApp groups I am a member off as a ‘must view’ msg.

   Its because its nogea each and every one who has children. No one is immuned. Kids coming from the finest homes get off the derech. The moral of the story conveyed so beautifully by this unique speaker is to know how to fulfill the moto of ‘chanoch l’naar al pi Darko’. Each child needs ‘tailored ‘ attention and education.No 2 kids are the same.
   Rav Shteinman was unique in teaching us that the term ‘doesn’t pass’ should be eradicated. Love and understanding will get us much further with our children.

9. Tashbar deserves a credit. We live in Lakewood for over 30 years. We remember Meir Hertz having the guts to start a ‘nonconventional’ school for children of patents that did not stay in Kollel foe ever. The L’kwd system fought him. He had an immediate success being that the urgent need was there. People tried to destroy him in many ways. He was stubborn and he succeeded. He managed to have a special school who currently is accepted by the mainstream ( not only by Rav Olshin).
   The dinner this year was a success. He imported an international guest speaker who not only shocked the Lakewood oilam with this notable lesson, but also praised the school to no end. Thousands worldwide know about how fantastic is his institution. Reb Meir- you deserve it.

13. I’m from LA. Someone from Lakewood just shared this clip with my wife.it’s inspiring, emotional, touching and shakes anyone’s heart.
    We still remember Rav Steinmann’s visit to LA back in 2006. He touched us all. What a legend.

16. My husband and myself have 2 children who went off the Derech. (One came partially back b”h). We watched this video twice. We never really thought about the cause and the reasons. We were just told by advisors and rabbinic that some kids just “do it” mainly because they fail the school system or just bad friends.
    Listening to this wonderful story (where OUR CHILD is not involved) we came to the ultimate conclusion that what the child in the story was missing was self dignity and recognition. “Zevy” came to Rav Steinmann because he remembered for years that when he failed the test and was looked down upin, he was rewarded by him for the effort; he left his girlfriend when the gadol hador had or ask HIM for a brach a whilst his parents set shiva on him ( cursing him out…..)

    Rav Sorotzkin; you can’t imagine the hakoras Hatov we have to you for being an eye-opener. You said your speech with so much regesh, we couldn’t resist. The first time in our lives someone finally explained us what this puzzle is all about.

17. I am confused. I just read the story in Artscroll’s biography of R. Aharon Leib, and it is not quite the same as this video. In the book, found on page 27-28, the father told R. Aharon Leib that his son was not shomer Shabbos and therefore R. Aharon Leib the son asked how long he wasn’t keeping Shabbos, and it goes on from there the same as the video. But in the video story, the father told R. Aharon Leib that his son was about to marry a non-Jew, and the conversation continues on that topic. It makes a difference because, in my experience with irreligious boys, the topic of marrying a non-Jew is a more common issue.

18. As I watched the video again, I realized that the story is first-hand sourced from the boy himself, Zevy, who is now a Rabbi somewhere in Israel, told to R. Sorotzkin. Now my question is where did the author of the biography get his version of the story! Help!

19. My name is not Zevi. Call me Zahava. I’m a 19 year old girl that grew in Brooklyn in a chassidishe home and I’m a ‘free girl’ today. The only sister I keep contact with who lives in Flatbush sent me the link to this clip.

    I was turned off by my school system and its teachers. All they did was criticise my behavior. My dress was never long enough and my hair was always ‘not tzniusedik’. My parents sided with the teachers and friction and fights were going on on daily basis.

    I’m a bit overweight and was trying to get some attention by dressing up and putting on some makeup which was totally unacceptable by the people surrounding me.

    Today I’m off living with a few friends in Soho. Not keeping Shabbos but still trying to eat Kosher when possible.

    I identify myself so much with Zevy. I fully agree with his move away from home.
    Maybe if my teacher was Rabbi steeinman and the one sympathies with me was this speaker, I would have second thoughts.
    Frum System – if you dont want boys and girls to be in our spots-wake up.

20. Rav Michoel Sorotzkin is one of the most talented speakers and magidei shiurim out there. Every one of his public appearances is exceptional. I had the merit of listening to him live twice and he manages to keep the audience ‘on their toes’ throughout. When the speech was over each one felt that they are ready for more.
    What a treasure!

    My favourite is his 15 min hesped on Reb Moshe Shapiro zt’l. One of the best hespedim ever said in klal Yisroel.

    There is a machlokes Rash’i and Tosfos (Gittin 9,A)in the pshat of this posuk, if its referring to the gifted speaker who’s eligible to be kissed for his wonderful speech, or it is referring to the people listening to the speech who’s lips are closed because they are overwhelmed from the powefful words of wisdom.
    With this unique speech- both are right. No question.

23. We are from Chicago. As you most probably heard, today is the coldest day here in the past 25 years. Now it’s 25 BELOW ZERO.
    We are stranded at home. My husband decided to gather a few teenagers from our block and “teach” them something as schools are off today and tomorrow.. We both decided to show them a few educational clips and some Torah speeches. We showed them this clip and the kids wanted to see it over and over. It was amazing to watch their faces, see their expressions and hear their comments. They had NO INTEREST at all to watch anything else. One 15 year old started crying and said :”It’s freezing : this is the only thing keeping us warm today….”
    This is an award winning item. It could melt any frozen neshomo- Indeed.
