Emergency campaign underway after Fire shuts Yeshiva of Bayonne dorm building; Over 50 Bachurim sent home (PHOTOS)

A fire at the Yeshiva of Bayonne dormitory today has shut the building, and forced the Yeshivah to send home over 50 Bachurim.

The electrical fire broke out at the dorm shortly after noon. The fire was quickly brought under control , but left the building with severe damage.

“There is a lot of damage – all the electrical work in the building may need to be redone,” a Yeshivah official tells TLS.

In the meantime, with nowhere to stay, over 50 Bachurim needed to be sent home.

Over 30 Bachurim from the Yeshivah are from Lakewood.

The Yeshivah is hoping to expedite the work to be able to get the Bachurim as soon as possible, despite the fact that the overtime and rush jobs will be more costly.
