Lakewood resident Dovid Egert to be deployed as U.S. Army Chaplain

Lakewood resident Dovid Egert will soon be deployed as an U.S. Army Chaplain.

Egert, a Lakewood DPW for approximately six years, was endorsed by Yeshiva Pirchei Shoshanim of Lakewood, and is a graduate of Rabbi Yerucham Shain’s Adelphia Yeshivah.

Egert, an EMT, was also the one who set off the Bike 4 Chai phenomenon, when he decided to bike up to Camp Simcha.

“For many years I have had the privilege of helping people in the Lakewood community,” Egert tells TLS. “Between volunteering for many organizations like Chai Lifeline and Bikur Cholim, or working in the Township in Public Works. It has always been a passion of mine to help people, and I am proud to continue doing so now as a member of the US armed forces as an Army Chaplain.”

Egert says he will be leaving for a 13-week training in South Carolina, and then be deployed to wherever the Army chooses.
