PHOTOS: Lakewood resident’s shed struck by lightning

A shed in Lakewood caught fire yesterday after being struck by lightning during the storm.

The lightening struck shortly after 7 PM, and set the shed on fire. Luckily the fire was extinguished before gas cans inside were ignited, the resident said.

Several thousand JCP&L customers around Ocean County, including in Lakewood, lost power during the storm as well.
