Authorities are investigating after a woman posing as cleaning help at a Frum residence in Toms River ran off with the family’s jewelry.
Sources say a woman posing as a cleaning lady allegedly knocked on the door of the home, and when a teenager answered the door – reportedly thinking it was their cleaning lady – she went running upstairs, grabbed the jewelry and ran out of the home to a waiting car. The parents were not home at the time.
Toms River and Lakewood Police Departments are searching for the vehicle, said to be occupied by another woman and man.
The vehicle was reportedly seen in Lakewood shortly after the incident.
An investigation is underway.
What is wrong with people. Thank goodness the teen wasn’t hurt. Never, never, open the door for people you don’t know. If they persist, call 911. Don’t be embarrassed – better safe than sorry. Again, thankful the child wasn’t hurt. Hope they catch this creep soon.
Never let strangers in your house. Parenting 101
How did a “total stranger” know where to find the jewelry?
Cleaning lady probably in on it
Obviously.
Yo should always check for the license plate when car starts leaving .
You should never let strangers into your home.even if they look frum. Better call 911 if they insist on entering.
