VIDEO & PHOTOS: State and local authorities searching by air, land and water for missing teen in Lakewood [UPDATED]

P1070182Authorities are using boats, a drone, helicopter and ATVs to search in and around Lake Shenandoah in Lakewood for a missing teen, police confirmed to TLS.

Police have not yet released information about the person, but say the person was supposed to be home last night.

Assisting in the search is the Lakewood Dive Team, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the State Police.

UPDATE 1:35 PM: Police released the following info moments ago:

IMG_2735“We are actively investigating the report of a missing person. 18 year old Elibit Mena was last heard from around 5pm last night. His mother grew concerned when she observed his unoccupied car parked in the parking lot of Shenandoah Park located on South Clover Street. Further investigation revealed that he was expected to meet some friends at the park last evening. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, gray sweatpants and black sneakers. It is unknown what may have happened to him. At this time, we are coordinating search efforts with the New Jersey State Police, The Ocean County Prosecutors Office, The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department as well as Chaverim, and LCSW.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lakewood Police Department at 732-363-0200 or the Ocean County Prosecutors Office at 732-929-2027.”

The new year just started today marks 1 month since a young 12 year old took her life,Some others from lakewood have pasted away from an unfortunate accident just recently, now this. I hope he’s found safe, prayers to his family in this time of need and this struggle.He just graduated this past year. Im so saddened to hear hes missing. ??????????

I don’thave exact information on Elibit, but I have an idea on how to find him,you should go through the CCTV cameras around the area where he lives and keep track on where he went and where he was going through out the week and as you start to see that his ways back home let’s say for an example he makes a detour towards somewhere else, that could give you an answer to where he can possibly be.

  7. I hope they triangulated the cell phone, it might be too late now if it is off or more likely the battery died. May have been stolen and charged up though. I’m sure it was done. It’s the first thing to do, get the number from his mom. I pray that this has a happy ending.
