Pothole Killer Coming to Lakewood Later this month

pothole killer truckMany have been complaining about the hundreds of potholes around town which have cropped up over the past few weeks.

A township official tells TLS the ‘pothole killer’ will be coming to Lakewood later this month, and will remain in town for approximately eight weeks.

The pothole killer machine can quickly fill the holes with hot patches even during the winter, giving the fillers a lifespan of approximate 44-48 months.

According to Public Works officials, last year’s patches have had a success rate of over 90%.

Only roads within the township’s jurisdiction are being treated by the township-leased machine. State and County roads are covered by their respective jurisdictions.

  1. Later this month??? Why not wait till next winter. Maybe everyone who has damage to their car because of the wait should send their mechanic bill to the township

  2. I’m happy to hear this news, since I spent over $2000(!) on repairs to 2 of my vehicles after last winter, a lot of it having to do with the potholes. Last year we were told that the township would be leasing it this winter. There were potholes before the snow that got a lot bigger. Why wait? Maybe it saves the township some money, even a lot of money, but I am sure it doesn’t come close to the tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars it’s costing the taxpayer, collectively, for repairs to their vehicles.
