PHOTOS: Lakewood First Aid to Unveil Newly Renovated Squad Quarters

lfa hqLakewood First Aid will be unveiling its newly renovated and remodeled squad quarters and ready room. The unveiling, which will take place tonight at its monthly squad meeting, is expected to bring in representatives from the various emergency response agencies within Lakewood, as well as the Township Committee.

The squad currently operates six emergency response vehicles, including ambulances and heavy rescue trucks, and works closely with Lakewood EMS and Hatzalah to cover the 13,000 medical emergencies that occur in Lakewood each year. Based out of the current building on Pine Street, the new ready room and squad quarters will provide LFAS members with a comfortable and spacious building that they can utilize while giving their time to stand by with the ambulances to ensure quick response times to medical emergencies.

At the meeting, the squad will be recognizing those who put the time in to perform the renovation at minimal costs.

“All equipment and new furniture was sponsored, and all labor was performed by volunteers,” the Squad tells TLS. “The renovation came at no cost to taxpayers, nor from its annual fund drive donations that the squad receives intended to cover the organization’s operating expenses.”

Those who will be recognized tonight for their contributions include Police Officers Alex Guzman and Erik Menck, his father Walter Menck, Lakewood EMS members Stacy Spiedel and Travis Veth, and Lakewood First Aid members Ace Klughaupt, Meyer Rosenbaum, and Captain Ralph Lasry, along with the squads building chairman Bentzi Inzelbuch. The Squad will also be recognizing Yehuda Rotberg and the sponsors who generously donated towards this renovation project.

Lakewood First Aid & Emergency squad is a non-profit organization that relies entirely on volunteers and donations for it’s operations. To learn more about how you can help the squad, through volunteering or donations, visit http://lakewoodfirstaid.org/
