Two men were robbed early this morning by two others who claimed they were police officers, TLS has learned. At about 4 a.m., police received a call about a robbery which occurred in the area of Martin Luther King Drive.
Upon arrival, two victims told police they were approached by two black males who claimed they were police officers, and requested to see their ID. When one of them stated he didn’t have ID on him, the suspects made him retrieve it from his home. After both produced ID, the suspects then proceeded to rob them, police say.
The suspects then fled with the victims’ wallets, credit cards, cash and a cell phone.
One of the suspects was described as wearing a grey hoodie and jeans, and the other was described as wearing a black shirt, jeans and had a lip piercing. Neither of the men produced a badge or had any markings of a police officer, police say.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

Hmm… There seems be a lot missing from this story…
Can you say……….duh……..stupid!
Well didn’t you know the new LPD dress code? All officers must have their lip pierced in order to easily identify them.
wow. Old rule. if the guy has no badge- run! There was a story not long ago when a guy pulled over a car driven by a woman… He was no cop… vihamaiven yavin
