VIDEO: When asked by the Mayor if she forgives her father for giving up his time to the Township, young Nicolina Saccomanno answered “No!”, which was all more of a reason she deserved the award.
Nicolina and her brother Nino during last night’s Township Committee meeting were honored by Mayor Akerman with a plaque, for giving up their time so their father, Inspection Department Head Mike Saccomanno could serve the residents of Lakewood.
Saccomanno, well-respected throughout the Township Departments and throughout the Lakewood community, has been serving in the Department for 15 years, and as head of the Department for four years.
After a humerous back-and-forth between the Mayor and Nicolina, the Mayor presented the young children with a plaque they could hang up in their rooms, to serve as an everlasting symbol of appreciation by the Township of Lakewood. [TLS. Video provided by the Lakewood Shopper.]

After watching Nicolina, I’m wondering who really runs the Inspection Dept!
I’m surprised Mikes kids know of he is. He is always at work helping everybody with their permits, and answering our questions. Mike thank you for all you do, and effort you put in. You are a true public servant. Kids you both are very lucky to have such great parents. You should both follow in their footsteps.
