PHOTOS & VIDEO: Critically Injured Meshulach En-Route Back to Eretz Yisroel; Opens Eyes for First Time

PHOTOS & VIDEO: The Meshulach – Refoel Baruch ben Esther Henya – who was critically injured in Lakewood several weeks ago, is currently en-route back to Eretz Yisroel for further treatment.

Coordinated by VitalOne.org, Reb Baruch – still in a Coma – was transported form Jersey Shore Medical Center to the airport, where he opened his eyes for the first time since the accident, a VitalOne coordinator says. Though it was just for a few seconds, it was sign of hope for his wife and family.

“He’s also responding to pain,” the coordinator says.

The coordinator says that Travelers Insurance which the Meshulach took out at a cost of approximately $1 per day, proved to be a lifesaver for the coverage of the transport and stay at the hospital.

“It’s imperative for people who travel to have the insurance for instances where someone is CH”V seriously hurt and needs to be transported,” said the coordinator. “It’s worth the minor investment.”

The transport, says the coordinator, costs approximately $50,000. The stay at the hospital is also covered by the Travels Insurance, the coordinator says.

Two Critical Care Paramedics and a Flight Physician accompanied the Meshulach on the ElAl flight, where nine seats in a partition were reserved for the transport back to Tel Aviv – where he should be arriving shortly.

A fund has been set up by Askonim to assist the Meshulach by providing urgently needed funds for his wife and family of eight. The link can be accessed by clicking here. [TLS]

  1. I think some of these pictures are personal and might be an invasion of the choleh’s privacy. May he have a refuah shleima bekorov.

  2. the photos seem to have been put for a purpose , obviously with the familys permission.. there is a very sad situation and the family now has no one to support them.. these pictures should arouse our compassion and we should all donate very large sums to help this family

  3. Comments 1,2,3 you are all completely wrong. The family wants to draw attention to their cause. R’ Refoel was the primary bread winner for his family, and they are now forced to rely on the generosity of others.

Before anyone else makes any comments about the morality of the above posted photos, Please see the following links posted BY the family.

Before you place misguided a comment about a situation that you only have limited knowledge of, perhaps do some research, and try to see the full picture (no pun intended). Instead of criticizing, Lets come together as a community and help this family in their time of need. Let us hope and pray R’ Refoel makes a complete recovery so he can return to his role as a caring loving father.
