PHOTO: Hundreds of men, women and children gathered this afternoon to take part in the Hachnosas Sefer Torah in memory of Habachor Yosef Meir Berger Z”L.
The Sefer Torah was donated by Yosef Meir’s parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ezra Berger, to the Yeshivah Kol Torah on Oak Street – where Yosef Meir Z”L learned at the time of his tragic Petirah last Erev Purim at the age of 13.
The Hachnosas Sefer Torah is among several others being held today – marking the beginning of Shloshes Y’mei Hagbalah.
Ezra you are an unbeleivable person. You have taken a tragedy and inspired so many people to do chesed and mitzvos. It is through people like you that make the world a better place. May your dear son Yoseif Meir Z”L be a meilitz yosher for all those who loved him and for all of Klal Yisroel.
the sefer was donated jointly by the family and the yeshiva which split the cost

the yortzeit was chof daled iyar. yosef meir was injured on erev taanis esther last year, but in the zechus tefilas harabim held on for another 10 weeks.
