Hit a Pothole? Post It; List to be Submitted to DPW

If you’ve been driving around town lately, chances are you’ve hit or nearly hit a pothole. The mixture of snow, cold weather and road salting has left dozens of potholes in the Lakewood streets.

However, with the cold weather in place, crews – when they get to it, usually fill the holes with ‘cold patches’, which serve as a temporary solution. When the weather warms up, crews then fill the holes with ‘hot patches’, a more permanent solution.

One particular pothole on County Line Road last week was so bad, that several motorists busted a tire in it.

If you’re come across a pot hole which has not yet been filled, please post it in the comments below, and we’ll submit the list to the Department of Public Works.

Additionally, you can call it in to the Public Works, at 732-905-3405. (Photo: Somerset Avenue).

  1. Country Club Drive has about 20 all down the street.I think you should use a patch that actually works, instead of the rocks that you use now. With the first rain, the pothole opens up again. If DPW is going to fix these holes,PLEASE do it right.Thank you

  2. Kennedy and princeton as soon as you enter coventry square there is a very large one every time you enter coventry you have to brake otherwise you get a big bang

  3. If Im correct and I could be wrong..DPW will not fill holes in construction zones, those are the resposibility of the Contractor..so if you live in a new development you should contact your contractor to fill the holes..Route 70, Route 9 & Route 88 are State Roads they are the people to call for them. DPW will not fill holes on those roads..and of course county roads are done by the county…

  4. maybe if we let the town breathe with keeping some trees and land left without adding more, there would be less reasons to have so many problems!

  5. Drake Road just south of White Street. Very large pot hole getting worse daily. Cars swerve around it during the day but at night or in rain there is no visibility.

  6. There’s a mama zetza one on 2 nd street brenda Clifton and Lexington.
Now that um noticing there seems to be potholes everywhere GEVALD.
    Also Bais faiga driveway.

  7. I am pretty taken aback about all this knocking “the pothole”.

How would you feel if you were a pothole?

What would it do to your sense of self?

And then to hear which pot hole is bigger…, that could really kill a potholes self esteem.

In today’s day of age its totally uncalled for.

And I don’t want to see comments how “my best friend is a pothole.
    It’s not going to work.

I want to see an apology…. A sincere one, and enrollment in sensitivity training course.

    Thanks,

    A Former Pothole

  8. Basically all on county line rd east of rt 9…its miserable and all the construction on both sides with vehicles constantly coming and going is just a nightmare with or without daytime traffic.
