Mayor Menashe Miller Departs To Qatar For Holiday Season

PHOTOS & VIDEO (UPDATED 9:30 PM) The Mayor this afternoon was once again pleasantly surprised as he walked out of Town Hall to head for Qatar for the Holiday season.

As the Mayor walked out of the Municipal Building following a meeting, he was greeted by his family, several dozen officials and close friends who came to bid him farewell.

The Mayor was escorted to the Jackson border via a private, Armored US Military-like vehicle, as well as by Lakewood Police.

The Mayor is expected to return home in time for the Reorganization meeting, early January. TLS.

  1. Just curious how Menashe can go for that amount of time with just a duffle bag. I go away for a Shabbos and I take suit bags and a mid size suit case and a bunch of last minute bags. I wou;ld like to know how he does it.

  2. Good for him !! Z’man Krias Shema in Qatar is, like, 10:48. Shabbos starts after 7:30 & its nice & warm this time of year; really warm, actually. Todays high is 104. L’ma’aseh, this tory gets picked up by the secular media & creates a HUGE kiddush H-shem. Ki Machav Yitzave … Lishmorchuh B’chul D’ruchechuh …

  3. Truth is, when “cool masmid” questions or comments one would be inclined to ignore him – or her.
At any rate, Mayor Miller is packing like and other S-O-L-D-I-E-R. You see, during battle or when on a mission, you leave the nighties, reading glasses, pipe, slippers and favorite teddy bear at home.
    You take the bare essentials.

  4. He is doing such a big chesed . He actions are a big lesson for all of us how to do chesed and not just think about yourself. Menashe may you spread the idea and ideal of chesed not just to whole klal yisroel but to all of the USA chazak

  5. R’ Laizer Silver z”tl also donned the uniform and gave of himself and his time to go overseas at the end of WWII.
Menash, keep up the great work!
Your accomplishments are nothing short of unbeleivable!

  6. #13, for acuracy’s sake, rav silver went to europe to rescue jewish children who had been hidden in monastaries and private homes. he wore the uniform for his own safety, as there were many reports of jews being attacked for trying to reclaim children. he was never officially in the army.

anyway, we are all sooooo very proud of menashe! we love u menash!

  7. To: The Center is Awesome !! says:

Check your facts. They are totally incorrect. The high temperature is about 75 and shabbos starts a drop later than Lakewood at about 4:30.

  8. I have gotten to know the Mayor over this past year after he personally visited my home during a power outage after the devistating hurricane. He is truly a man of honor. What a dedicated and selfless individual. His heart beats to the rythem of other people’s needs. May god bless him and his family.

  9. Be safe, give comfort to the troops, and return to Lakewood as soon as possible. Residents need to offer a special prayer for you and your family. You and your family continue to sacrifice for others.
