  1. If The State Reinstates The Death Penalty At This Time, Will It Be Effective On This Guy, Or Maybe It Wont Because At The Time Of His Wrong Doing The Penalty Wasnt In Effect?

  2. Why just reinstate the death penalty for cop killers? Why not the death penalty for any killer, whether the victim is a cop or otherwise? Other victims are just as human as cops.

  3. it should be reinstated for any execution style killing not just of police officers. if the killer shows no value for human life, they dont deserve to have theirs either.

  4. I don’t think this should be debated here, regardless of weather you believe or don’t believe it should be reinstated, this is not the place for it. It looks very tactless.

  5. For every killer who is “indisputably” guilty of murder. With DNA and modern science, we can be certain in many cases. The O’Brien killer who indisputably killed his mother and her friend because he stole money from them, should be executed. If it is proven that the suspect in this case is indisputably guilty, he should be executed.

  6. Of course! Even if the evidence is sketchy, because even if he’s innocent of *this* crime, he for sure must be guilty of *something*! Can you imagine a person completely innocent of everything in life?

I say, bring back the death penalty.

  7. It’s in the best interest of all of society if there are stiffer penalties for harming law enforcement officers; this is not a new notion being introduced in Lakewood, NJ post facto. There has to be greater reverence for those who uphold our laws and peace, among other reasons. Anybody that doesn’t believe a fiend like this deserves the death penalty has a perverted sense of justice! My sympathies to the officer’s family and the entire LPD.

  8. I am personally against the death penalty in a secular democracy, but if it was reinstated, I agree with all who said that it shouldn’t just be for cops. Why is it that if you kill someone more important, or in the government, you should get punished more?

  9. The death penalty in New Jersey was only abolished in 2007, and in a rushed manner. I believe that major changes in law, such as this, should only be done by referendum. Incidentally, a referendum would have failed. Polls showed that the majority of New Jersey citizens favored keeping the death penalty. The legislature and then current governor (Corzine) knowingly went against the will of the majority of New Jersey citizens.

  10. @ #17

Democrats and liberals always go against the will of the people. They govern as dictators.

Just like Obama and the democrats voted for ObamaCare against the will of a majority of Americans.

At times like these, it is very important to remember how the liberals continue to destroy our society. If we still had the death penalty in NJ, perhaps this murderer would have thought twice before killing Chris in cold blood.

So let us not forget this senseless murder, keep it in our psyche, and remember the next time we go to the polls: Vote ONLY CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS who actually care about our country. And definitely bring back the death penalty in NJ.

  11. WHO R WE 2 DECIDE ON LIFE AND DEATH???
let us not try to do god’s job!!! i say life in prison- that’s our caution to get him off the streets so as not to harm others and to teach everyone a lesson. but it is not the job of a human being to decide on life and death!!!!

  12. The ‘death penalty’ should be re-instituted for all ‘MURDERS’.

It should not be dragged out for 10-20 or more years and the penalty should be by public hanging.

The hanging in public would be more of a deterent than an injection in a controlled area.

There is a difference between kill and murder. Killing may be justified ,as in self defense for example.

  13. And what if you hang him and 5 years later you find out he is not guilty??? WHAT THEN!!!!!!!! Mistakes happen, we are all human. There are stories where innocent people are put in jail, imagine if you kill him!!

  14. y only cop killers and y only killers any violent offender who is a danger shud b taken off the streets forever and not to prison where he just cost taxpayer dollars

  15. b`etzem u should, but limaysa these days theres no beis din that could paskin ligabai diney nefashos oib azoy how could you be mechayev him misa??? uber efshar you could say loit 1 of the rishoinim that paskins dina dimalchusa dina that if the medina paskins misa when theres no beis din ligabey diney nifashos then you could vote that a roitzeyach should get misa. so loit those rishoinim i vote that he should be chayiv.

  16. someone who steals the nefesh of another person should be chayuv meesah. 100% no questions about it!!!! its a sakana that people that kill other people are walking in the streets….how can i let my 15 year old daughter in the streets…its mamash a sacana!!!

  17. U bet – a person shops for a gun he knows he uses it (and I don’t mean. Self defense ) at a cop or at a person execution style -and kills him/her the should be no 5 star jail /spa for him believe me the accommodation @ the jail is nicer then were he’s being living -kill him 7 days after trial

  18. I’m Maskim To U. But Isnt There Another Machlokes binoygaya Killing A Roitzayach? Wat U Were Talking About Is A Stam Case Of Misa Where Someone Is oiver On Something And Therefore Chayiv misa . But In This Case He Should Be Considered A Riodef Oz Therefore A Person Is Aloud To Kill Him Even Without Bais Din. Am I Wrong?

  19. death against any human being is wrong. A judge at the end of the day is just a man and has no right to decide if a man should live or die. Then that makes him also a killer. There is a much higher power that we all must answer to when we die. G*D will punish us properly on judgement day. Until then keep murderers in prison. For all of you who refer to jail as a prison please visit one n let’s see how long u last. I agree this man should not ever be able to walk the streets again but it is not for us to decide if he should live or die. Let him spend the rest of his ife behind bars.

  20. Everyone, I mean everyone in the community should contact Senator Bob Singer and urge him to continue his fight to re-instate the death penalty in NJ.
