PHOTOS & VIDEO of Detective Lieutenant William Addison saying goodbye to his fellow detectives and officers of the department he has worked at for the last 39 years. “Billy has had a distinguished career”, Police Chief Rob Lawson said standing outside Headquarters yesterday, flanked by Detective Sergeant John Stillwell and Detective Rob Humaney. “I wish I could twist his arm and get him to stay – it’ll be hard to manage without him”, the Chief said. “He’s got some pretty big shoes to fill”.
Lieutenant Paul Daley has been appointed to replace Addison as head of the Bureau.
Lieutenant, Thank you for all your years of service.
I will miss him with all my heart
For many years Lt Addison has had a soft spot for our community. He said that he and another officer were decoys on Forest Ave wearing shtraimels. If was after BMG students walking on Friday night were attacked by egg throwing from passing cars. Soon enough they threw eggs at the decoys and were arrested. That stopped the egg throwing problem. However, Lt Addison always remembered how it felt to be a target of hate.
Lieutenant William Addison, thanks for being a ‘mentch’. I will always remember you.
What a mentch good sucess on whatever you do.
We are going to miss you, we really cant afford to lose you
Addison a good man. A mentch par excelance. Thanks for your dedicated service and may you enjoy your retirement.
