UPDATED: Graffiti Vandals Strike Again, After Police Officers Clean Up Town, Two Arrested

Joe Parker Hit Again With Graffiti picPHOTOS the PBA Local 71 won’t be too happy about. This morning, residents in the Raintree area awoke to find the recently cleaned fence on Joe Parker, covered with gang-related graffiti markings, just weeks after the local PBA spent a day cleaning up the town. On July 25th, TLS reported about the same fence which was heavily covered with approximately 75 feet of gang markings.

On August 20th, the PBA Local 71 set out with two teams to tackle the gang graffiti, and began painting over the markings.

“We have the money and the supplies to do it, and we’re not afraid of the gangs”, PBA President Gary Przwasnik told TLS in a video interview during the August cleanup – a first for the PBA – which also included School Place, East 5th, Ridge Avenue, Pine Acres, Pine Street and more.

“This is one step forward in taking the streets back from the gangs”, he said. “We’re going to keep doing this as long as we have to to show them, you know what, this block doesn’t belong to them, it belongs to the people of the community”.

UPDATE: Detective Lieutenant William Addison tells TLS, that Police arrested to teenagersresponsible for the graffiti markings. The teens – a 15 and 16 year old –  were spotted by a neighbor who immediately called Police.

According to the neighbor, multiple officers showed up within minutes and caught the suspects attempting to flee the scene. The were found with spray paint on their fingers, and immediately arrested.

One of the teens is from the nearby Golf View development, and the other from August Drive.

The teens were released to their parents, and charges are pending, Addison said.

  1. Disgusting!
need to catch these creeps and give them some time behind bars to think about better way to put their time to use ~ if they get caught they should have to repaint the fence!

  2. I heard The Lakewood PD will be putting these young vandals to work and giving them paint and brushes to clean the mess they made. What a great idea.I don’t think they will be doing this again anytime soon.

  3. Its like someone with cancer saying he is going to the doctor for strep throat. LAKEWOOD IS SICK WITH DRUG LORDS, GANG LEADERS AND CRIMINALS. FORGET THE FENCES GET THE CRIMINALS OUT OF TOWN…

it seems that the townships opinion is gangs are ok in town as long as they dont paint anywehre where they are not supposed to.

  4. I think we should be asking who the officers were that did the outstanding work in catching these spray painting banditos. They need to be commended for their vigilance. Thank you very much to all involved.

  5. To #3 – we are trying to stay on top of it, we have repainted the Rt. 9 bridge 3 times in Aug/Sept. and the old fountain area twice. If you see graffiti please call us at DPW 732.905.3405 or the LPD Quality of Life office to report graffiti problems. Happy and peaceful New Year.
